HOW OUR DRAMA CLUB CLASSES HELP
YOUR CHILDREN

Our Drama Club Classes
The aim of the Academy Drama Clubs, is to help young people, 5-17 years, develop:

  • Enthusiasm
  • Confidence
  • Self Esteem
  • Conversational ability
  • Social Skills

These aims are achieved through a highly developed, original, drama programme.
Each fun session, at Drama Club is carefully planned.

Most importantly, our Drama Clubs are fun!
No previous acting experience is necessary; the emphasis is on encouraging children to develop their imagination and enthusiasm at a level that works for them.
We provide a safe, fun environment, managed carefully to ensure everyone respects one another.

Lower Primary Drama Club for 5-8 years
Provides young children with unique opportunities to develop clear speech, fluent delivery and pleasing social skills.
Our program helps to give them the confidence to be participants in all aspects of their lives, able to ask questions, seek answers and share information with others. Children who mix well with others find it easier to make friends and adjust to new situations. They find school an enjoyable adventure!
The Academy’s highly trained teachers motivate and inspire the students to become articulate communicators through enthusiastic participation in a wide range of creative activities including speech, creative movement, and improvisation.

Upper Primary Drama Club for 9-11 years
The confident, articulate child finds it easier to make friends, accept new challenges and explore new directions.
The programme is designed to help each child achieve these invaluable life skills. Students in our Upper Primary program participate in a wide range of creative activities including speech, dramatic movement, improvisation, snippets and scene starters. In a fun-filled atmosphere, our classes aim to give young people ongoing confidence, self-esteem and skill in verbal communication

Youth Theatre Drama Club for 12-17 years
The Academy attracts a wide range of young people, from those seeking to increase their confidence and speaking ability to those pursuing a career in the theatre.
Our dynamic program provides young people with a diverse range of skills for film, television, radio and theatre. The developmental side of the program is important, encouraging our students to become confident, articulate communicators.
Performance is the heart of the Curriculum, students regularly have opportunities to perform. The theatre arts side of the program is comprehensive, covering: spontaneous improvisation, voice production, small group improvisation, mini scripts, character analysis, open-ended dialogues, theatre games, radio plays, quick fire dialogues, monologues and structured scenes. We give our Youth Theatre Students a competitive edge over their peers.

End of Year Performances
At the end of each year they utilise all the skills acquired during the year to create a short, scripted production, which is performed, for parents and friends.
