About the Academy

The Helen O’Grady Children’s Drama Academy commenced operating in New Zealand in 1992. Denise Davidson, has been in charge of the Christchurch area since May 1998. Kirsty Willis became the Principal in March, 2008. Denise was in charge for almost 10 years. Thank you Denise for all that you have done to bring this fabulous self-development programme to the children in Christchurch. I am sure that you will all welcome Kirsty and support her as she continues to bring our excellent programme to your children.

| About the Principal |

I am a primary trained teacher with over ten years experience teaching in New Zealand, England and South Africa. During my travels I have taught children from many different backgrounds who have many complex needs. I believe that developing self worth in children and allowing them to express themselves creatively is so important.
The Helen O'Grady Drama system is an exciting and invaluable way to develop children's confidence, self esteeem and communicative skills. I feel really privileged to be Principal of the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy in Christchurch.
My husband, Dale, and I are very proud parents of our son, Zach. He is an incredibly adventurous and happy boy. We enjoy spending family time together, taking part in outdoor activities and sports, trips to the mountains, gardening and working on our house.
